30 days till departure

We are back on track!

Preparations for our trip have entered the final stages, all essentials have been collected and are stored on the floor in the study.  Last additions such as a Jetboil cartridge camping cooker, some rope to be used as washing line and for other things, cutlery and some last thoughts on functional garments have maxed out the capacity we can carry on the bike.  Any additional item has to be offset with cutting back on T-shirts and other none essential clothing.

The first set-up of our new tent went also without major problems and without killing each other.  Even so we took a little bit more than the advertised three minutes, and we should get faster on that, but it is really a walk in the park to set this tent up.  It provides sufficient space, the bike can be parked inside, and there is plenty of room to sit out a rainy day.  First judgement, worth the money spent on our Redverz bike tent.

We also have in the week since Ralph has returned from his business trip put some 500+ miles more on the bike and getting more comfortable again riding two up.  It will be of course different when all the luggage is added, and that will happen over the next weekends.

So spirits are up again that the trip will happen and we're counting the days down now as we are nearing the June 14th departure date.
