Mile 19152

We leave our campsite early and first order of the day is to find a nice coffee place.  We have our priorities.  Then it is yielding through Merritt, BC and finding Hwy-97C which will bring us over the Okanagan Connection to Kelowna, BC.  The drive is just a drivers dream, smooth road, nice curves going up and down the mountains.

I could drive this road forth and back several times and not getting tiered of it.  But we have no time for that, we are on a mission.  We reach Kelowna shortly after midday, park the car and stroll along the Okanagan Lake.

We find a nice place for brunch and then head to town to the Okanagan Destillery, where I bought two years ago some gin for Elke which we try to get again.  We are lucky as they are down to the last bottles, and we take some home.  We also discover a very smooth double distilled absinthe and have to take this one as well.  Then we leave town and drive up to our campsite outside of Kelowna, which is a nice location in the mountains, but completely run down, and with facilities beyond the point of use, we decide that we just stay for the one night and run away tomorrow morning.

"Absinthe: After the first glass, you see things as you wish they were.  After the second, you see them as they are not.  Finally you see things as they really are, and that is the most horrible thing in the world."  -  Oscar Wilde,  Irish writer, poet and playwright, 1854-1900
