We leave our campsite outside of Kelowna and find at first the Mermaid for some breakfast and a clean washroom. After having taken care of the essentials we continue Southeast of Kelowna to the Myra Canyon Kettle Valley Railway Trestles and Tunnels. This bike trail features 18 trestles and 2 tunnels and is offering a stunning view of the Myra Canyon and Okanagan Valley, and giving a glimpse into the region's railway history.
The railway path we paddle along today was originally built 1912 and 1914, and operated freight and passenger trains till the mid 20th century. After having had our exercise we pack the bikes and head North to the town of Vernon, BC. This town has plenty of murals depicting its history or other historical evnets to see, and I'm adding some more to my collection.
After that we find Hwy-97 and make our way to joining Hwy-1 (Trans Canada Hwy) for the last bit to Kamloops, BC.
