After a restful weekend in and around Toronto, visiting the Sound of Music Festival in Burlington, ON and then having a relaxed Sunday with doing laundry, reading a book, and visiting our favorite coffee place it is time to move on. This morning the sky is full of sunshine and we break down our campsite on the Indian Line Campground in Brampton, ON (this place can be recommended, even though it is a bit outside of Toronto, but public transport is nearby and a breeze). We make our way through some Monday traffic and find finally Rt-10 North, leading us to Orangeville, ON and further to Owen Sound, ON, where we pick up Rt-6 to bring us to the Bruce Peninsula National Park for today. We will stay here for a day or two, just to explore the park before continuing across the Main Channel between Lake Huron and the Georgian Bay. But for today, Bruce Peninsula N.P. is enough.
After a good night in the forrest, we get ready to hit the trails of Bruce Peninsula N.P. We take the trail along Cyprus Lake, then walk along Horse Lake to the Indian Head Cove and Natural Arch. We are relatively early here, and yet the place is already filled with people posing for selfies left and right, and it is difficult to get an unobstructed view of any of the rock formation and the beautiful turquoise waters. The same awaits us at the Grotto, people climbing all over the rocks, and getting directed for the perfect picture. That's what it is all about, perfect installation for Facebook, Instagram, and Co. We continue the rugged Bruce Trail toward Overhanging Point and cross back to the campsite along the Marr Lake Trail. After about 7km (4.1mi) in total trail walking it is time to rest the old bones.
