We wake up and it is not raining, even though the sky looks like it could start any moment. We pack our stuff and decide to make a loop tour around P.E.I. We are surprised to see how much farming is done on the island and are a little reminded to the farm land around my home town in Germany. We take Trans Canada Hwy-1 (TCH-1) and follow it to Charlottetown, PEI and further, but finally decide near Wood Island, PEI to leave the coast and cross over to Montague, PEI. Here we continue further north to Mount Stewart, PEI before returning to Charlottetown. We pick up TCH-1 again and leave the island over the Confederation Bridge after paying our exit toll (btw, cheaper than the ferry, and faster) to return to Port Elgin, NB to follow the coast line towards Pictou, NB. But in Tatamagouche, NB we find a nice brew pub and think it is the perfect place to end the day.
"Munit haec et altera vincit" - "One [hand] defends and the other conquers", motto from the Nova Scotia coat of arms, which reflects the province's history of resilience and the spirit of its people.
